About
The Cello Sonata No. 2 in F Major opens this program with Andrew Shulman and Orion Weiss. Brahms composed this in 1886 at the age of 53, more than twenty years after completing his first Cello Sonata. Martin Chalifour, Lynn Harrell and Orion Weiss continue with the Piano Trio in C minor, which Brahms composed in 1886 at age 53. Concluding the concert, the NHSQ performs the String Quartet in C minor composed in 1873 at the age of 44.
