Cho-Liang Lin, Che-Yen Chen, Paul Watkins and Rohan De Silva open the concert with the Piano Quartet No.3 in C minor, composed in 1875 at the age of 42. Tereza Stanislav and Rohan de Silva continue with the Violin Sonata No.3 in D minor, composed between 1886-1888 and premiered in 1888 by Jeno Hubay on violin and Brahms himself at the piano. The Festival concludes with the extraordinary String Sextet No.2 in G Major, composed during the years 1864-1865. It was first performed in Boston, Massachusetts on October 11th, 1866 when Brahms was 33 years old!
